Dear Baby,
Yesterday, You and Mommy had lunch with Tina :) You remember Mommy's friend Tina right? I've blogged about her and her FamBam once or twice. Daddy and I met Tina and her Hubby on our honeymoon cruise, do you remember her now? I'm sure you do. And once you decide to come out and join us into the world, I am so sure you and her FamBam are gonna get a chance to know each other :)
So back to our lunch--did you have a good time listening to some girl talk while we were eating? I'm sure you enjoyed the food that Mommy ordered because it was OH SO YUMMY! CruiseMateBuddy Tina and I met up at Denny's around 1pm. We didn't really know where to eat but I'm glad she suggested Denny's because Mommy just discovered her new FAVE dish at this place :) It's called LEMON PEPPER CHICKEN and it came with 2 sides of your choice. I chose corn and french fries...YUM-O! I tried to look for a picture online but coulnd't find one so here's the description from the Denny's website:
A grilled chicken breast topped with lemon pepper butter sauce, sauteed mushrooms and grape tomatoes. Served with two sides and dinner bread. Includes your choice of soft drink or coffee.
***Tina, lunch was awesome. Thank you so much for the YUMMY meal. LiL Peanut and I enjoyed the food and your company very much. We definitely have to do this AT LEAST once a month. And of course, lunch is on me and LiL Peanut next time :)***

2nd Trimester
Dear Baby,
Today you and I are now in our 2nd Trimester of Pregnancy! Here's what BabyCenter says about you:
How your baby's growing:
This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.
And since the site says you're about the size of a lemon, here's a picture:

turn that frown upside down :)
Dear Baby,
Guess what LiL Peanut? Blogging about Mommy's BFF worked like a charm :) ateCherry sent me a text around 5pm and told me NOT to eat dinner. About an hour later she was outside the house with a SURPRISE for you and me. (well technically, the surprise was more for you and not Mommy but whatever works right? LoL) She MADE the beef dish that you and Mommy were craving!!! YIPPEE! Wow, I was so darn happy when she handed it to me. (OK, so she didn't hand it to me. I reached in the door through the car window and grabbed it...hahaha) I smelled the tanginess of the dish as soon I opened the tupperware and took a sniff...*happy dance, happy dance* And to top it off...she even gave me a pretty nice portion of white rice shaped like a bowl...oh yessss, she loves me! Or I mean she loves YOU :) I know you enjoyed dinner on Friday as much as Mommy did because EVERY bite was just OH SO YUMMY! She used a little bit of vinegar and a lot of lemon and you can taste the lemon and the hint of vinegar on the meat. Mommy finished the rice...and Daddy was kinda shocked that I did but I didn't think it was a lot. Or maybe I did but I just wanted to keep on eating that it didn't matter how much rice I ate :)
I really cannot thank ateCherry enough for that surprise! It felt so nice to know she went outta her way to make that dish just because you and Mommy were craving it. And you and I were so full and satisfied after dinner. The best thing about that though? Not only can you taste the lemon with each bite but you can also taste the LOVE :) Awwwwwwwww! She loves us...hihihi :) Thanks Doodz, muchas gracias!!! You're the best :)

:(
Dear Anak,
Today is Friday and this is what you and Mommy are craving--a filipino dish called BEEF STEAK TAGALOG! But we want the Ilocano version...hehe :) My Lola used to make it for us and it was just SO yummy. You can taste the tanginess of the Calamansi (filipino lemon) with every bite and the beef is just oh so tender and perfect. And this dish is perfect on top of a bowl of hot and steamy white rice. The brown sauce from the the meat and the onions covers the white rice and every bite is just as tangy as the meat. My mouth is seriously watering right now.
Mommy was talking to her BFF, ateCherry and guess what??? She actually KNOWS how to make this dish just like Mommy's Lola because her Lola used to make it the EXACT same way. Both our Lolas are Ilocanas that's why. Well, ateCherry claims she KNOWS how to cook this dish just like her Lola. So of course Mommy did the 'happy dance' but here's the sucky part about it....Mommy's BFF in the whole wide world WON'T make it for us :( :( :( Instead she's just teasing me AND loving it too. Hmmmp!!! She could at least make it for YOU and think that it's what YOU'RE craving too right? Nope! She doesn't want to budge. No siree! It's OK Anak, Mommy will just have to try and crave something else for you :(
Here's a picture of the dish that I'm talking about:

Anyways, he handed me your very first $2 BILL :) How very nice of him right? We need to make sure to take a picture of you with the $2 bill to thank him.

Dancing Baby
Dear Baby,
Yesterday was a FUNNY day to say the least. You and Mommy had a DRs appointment (or should I say a Nurse Visit appt) and the point of this appointment was for the nurse to do some measurements of YOU. We meet with the OB next Monday and all this info needs to be ready by that time. Well.......the nurse wasn't able to get ALL the measurements she needed because.......YOU WERE DANCING ALL OVER MOMMY's TUMMY :) Daddy was SMILING the whole time because he was just so amused by your 'moves' :)
The nurse said you weren't cooperating with her because she just needed one more measurement which is to measure the back of your neck but you just wouldn't stop moving. She said she needed you to lay down for just a second but it just didn't happen. She told me to walk around for about 15 minutes and come back because maybe the walking will make you change position. Daddy and I walked around the hospital for a little bit and when we got back...you were STILL dancing. hahaha :) The nurse then offered for me to come back this Thursday for another try.
When I say you were dancing, I am not kidding nor am I exaggerating. Your arms were moving all over the place and your legs were wiggling too. You kept sitting up and moving your arms and legs at the same time. Daddy said he saw your little body slide down and you used your little arms to move yourself back up to the sitting up position. :) silly kiddo you are! At one point, the nurse said you were probably teasing her because you were waving your arms behind your head and another picture showed you kind of relaxing with your head resting on your arms. Too funny :)
I'll post some pictures of you later on today.
I wonder how other babies your age were behaving in their Mommy's tummy....you're about 12-13 weeks right now...

Dear Baby,
You and Mommy got a blogger award today! Nicole from An East Coast Wedding awarded us with "You're Going Places"
Mommy has been following Nicole's blog for a long time now and her wedding in the east was just BEAUTIFUL! She has a cute LiL family with her hubby and their fur-baby Kingston. Can't wait to see a picture of you and your hubby with your house in the east coast 10 years from now with Kingston and your soon to be kiddo(s)!

zZzZzZzZz...
Dear Baby,
Today is Wednesday and the time is about 11:30am. Mommy is at work and struggling. Struggling from what you ask? SLEEPINESS! Yup, I am so super sleepy right now. All I want to do is go home and crawl back into bed and stay under the covers all day. It doesn't help that the weather is gloomy either and it's already July! Where's the sun at? Another factor that's not helping? It's a little chilly in the office where Mommy works so it feels even better to want to crawl up into a ball and snore into LaLa land. *sigh*
Anyways, Mommy needs to ask you for a favor. I know this 'allIwannadoiscrawlbackintobedandsleep' syndrome is because I'm pregnat right? Sooooo...can you please help Mommy not be sleepy so much? I yawn like every 10 seconds or so and it is so hard to keep my eyes open. Is there something you can do about that? Or are you in Mommy's tummy chillin' and relaxin' and probably sleeping too? hehe :) Lucky you!
Alrighty then, I better get back to work now :(

Happy Birthday
Dear Anak,
This post is going to be about 2 very special men in Mommy's life and I cannot wait to see what role they will play in your life.
First up is my Papa. He just celebrated a birthday on June 30 and he is now 60 years old. Yup, I said 60! But no one can ever guess or believe that he's 60 because he doesn't look a day over 40 and he acts younger than his age...sometimes :) Let's just say he's young at heart or a kid at heart still. He can make you laugh with his silly jokes and he always has something funny to say about everything. And even when his jokes or comments are lame, you can't help but laugh with him...or is it laugh at him-hahaha :) He likes to play these silly jokes so you better watch out :) But he is such a good Dad but most of all I think he's such a great person. He always tries to see the good in everyone and he is the most patient person I know. I cannot wait to see how you and Papa will be with each other.
Next on the list is Mommy's nephew Kurt aka KC or Kooyah. He celebrated his birthday yesterday on July 1st and he is now 20 years old. Here's another dude who doesn't look or act his age...hahaha :) Kooyah is so much still a little boy at heart. I asked him what he wanted for his birthday and he asked for a batman toy :) silly KC!
I cannot believe this boy is growing up so fast. I can still remember when Mommy's sister was still pregnant with him. And I have SO many stories of him when he was young because we all used to live in the same house and I had to babysit him most of them times. This kiddo was so much fun when he was just a toddler. It'll be funny to see what memories you and him will share because I'm sure I'm going to have to ask him to babysit you sometimes...hehehe :) He's a good guy and he is one of the most gentle dudes I know.
He and Papa kind of have the same personality. They're both a little shy at first but once they're comfortable they can be so funny and so talkative. Both very patient and kind. They both have that little shy smile too. Don't worry, you'll see what I'm talking about when you get to hang out with them later on the years. I can only imagine what kinds of conversation these two will have you. Kinda scary and funny at the same time just thinking about it :)
Anyways, Happy Birthday Papa and Kooyah! I love you both very much and I'm sure this baby in my tummy will love you just as much.
