8 more weeks!

Dear Baby,

You are now 32 WEEKS OLD today! That means we are now just 8 weeks away from our due date...yippee! A lot of people are telling me that I'm not going to make it to 40 weeks and that You'll be here before your due date. Who knows right? You'll come out when You're ready to come and join us. Mommy is patient and will be as ready as can be when the time comes. All I ask is that You're strong and healthy.

So here's what BabyCenter has to say about You today:

How your baby's growing:

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

That's a jicama-in the Philippines
we call it SINGKAMAS

How far along: 32 weeks

Maternity Clothes: Mommy bought 3 maternity jeans and got them a little bigger so that hopefully I can grown into them and not have to buy anymore. I have to stop wearing dresses and skirts because the weather has been so cold and windy lately.

Sleep: Dear Sleep, Oh how I miss you so very much :( I still miss you Sleep and since I've been sick, I'm lucky to even get a full hour of sleep without having to change position, use the restroom, drink water, fix my blanket, or have my cough wake me up...SO frustrating!

Best Moment of the Week: Thanksgving Day was a success and everything I cooked turned out YUMMY :) Another best moment was Sunday-Mommy&Daddy's 1st year anniversary as husband and wife!

Movement: You seem to be loving it in Mommy's belly LiL One. I too am loving all your movements in there. Let's just try to not do cartwheels when Mommy is trying to sleep ok? Please...
Food Craving: No cravings for me lately...weird right?
Gender: I can't wait to meet our LiL Peanut aka our LiL Rookie aka my LiL Peanut-butter cookie aka my SON...wow, what an amazing feeling that I am going to be YOUR mommy :)
What I'm looking forward to: Holding You and Kissing You and Hugging You and just Loving You to pieces!<--I'm still looking forward to this :)

Weekly Wisdom: Now that I'm getting closer to my due date and getting bigger, I seriously am LOVING being pregnant. I guess I've been blessed with the 'pregnancy glow'

Happy Thanksgiving

Dear Baby,

This weekend was super nice and super cool that Mommy and Daddy didn't have to work for 4 straight days! We had Thursday for Thanksgiving off plus Friday and the of course our usual Saturday and Sunday off...NICE! The only bad thing about it was---Mommy got sick :( oh boo! Mommy wasn't sick on Thanksgiving Day though...whew! I'm still a little bit sick right now but I can manage. Mommy has a cough that just won't go away :(

Anyways, let me tell You what we did on Thanksgiving Day---Mommy started chopping and preparing for our Thanksgiving meal at 9am! That's early huh? I started by chopping up all the veggies for the stuffing, peeled and chopped up the potatoes for mashed potatoes, and peeled and choppped up the sweet potatoes for the sweet potato bake. Mommy also prepared the turkey by putting ayummy spice rub on it for extra flavor. Your Daddy was in charge of cleaning and re-arranging the living room ( he did an awesome job by the way). Oh, and he cleaned out the fireplace too. Your (Grandpa) Papa was in charge of cleaning the backyard and the garage. Daddy also helped Mommy by mashing the potatoes, sweet potatoes, basting the turkey every hour, and pretty much helped me with whatever I needed...awwwww kudos to your Daddy :)

Our guests came at about 7pm and it was perfect timing because Mommy was so hungry and oh so tired by that time. All I wanted to do was eat and relax. The guests that came for Thanksgiving were; your Abuelita Norma, your Tio Esteban, your Tio Eliseo, your Auntie Sherry, your Uncle Leleng, your Uncle Klint, and a few of  your Papa's buddies. And our menu consists of:
*a yummy 15 pound turkey and gravy
*stuffing
*sliced baked ham
*creamed corn and regular corn
*cranberry sauce
*sweet potato bake
*mashed potatoes
*roasted potatoes
*green bean casserole
*egg rolls (courtesy of Mommy's co-worker Thai)
*and refried beans (your Abuelita made it)
*chocolate chip pumkpin bread (Mommy's co-worker Michele made it)
*store bought pecan pie
*store bought apple pie
*store bought dinner rolls

Everyone LOVED Mommy's cooking...yay! :) Sad to say, I didn't take any pictures :( I totally forgot about taking pictures. I think because Mommy was so tired already but I did get a picture of the turkey...hehehe :)

Yippee! Another week older

Dear Baby,

You and Mommy just got back from our DRs appointment with Dr. Nakashima. We had a 9am appointment today and everything went well. Daddy only worked 3 hours because he wanted to join us for this visit. He missed a few already because of work but he said he's gonna try to not miss anymore. So the DR checked to see if Your heartbeat was OK (she said it sounded 'perfect'), measured Mommy's tummy (she said my belly is growing just fine--even though Daddy and Mama thinks it's TOO BIG), checked Mommy's weight (Mommy gained another pound in 2 weeks) and blood pressure (it was OK), and tested Mommy's urine too. Mommy needs to start taking iron pills twice a day now and when we see the DR again in 2 weeks, she said she wants me to do some more blood work just to make sure my sugar and iron levels are OK.

Oh, and guess what today is? You are now 31 WEEKS OLD!!! A lot of people are telling me this pregnancy is going by so fast but here I am wanting it to be 40 weeks already so you can come out of Mommy's belly and join us in this crazy world...hehe :) It's weird because part of me wants you outta there already but the other part is loving the fact You're growing in my belly and like I said before...I am loving my BIG belly right now :) Every movement from you puts a smile on my face--except for the movements you make while Mommy is trying to sleep :( Let's try to keep that to a minimum shall we? Thanks Kid!

So, let's see what BabyCenter has to say about You today:

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

hahaha...the site changed the size
of their picture...boo! wow, imagine if
there were FOUR of You in my belly?
yikes!

Dear Baby,

This picture was taken last Sunday night at Altanette's house for her daugter's 1st Birthday and Baptism party. Gosh, your Mommy is HUGE...yikes! hahaha :)

Altanette is Mommy's childhood friend. She and I lived and grew up on the same street--Sally Court. Oh, the memories that we shared :) We went to the same schools from elementary, junior high, and high school. She was like a sister to me growing up and her family was definitely a second FamBam to me. I call her parents mom and dad and her grandmas Nanay and Mama. She and I have so many stories to share hopefully we'll share some of them with You and her kiddos one day.

Altanette and I lost touch from time to time but always somehow knew each other's email and kept in touch that way. We reunited again through Facebook and had dinner with a  group of other friends last February. She then invited me to her daughter's 1st Birthday/Baptism Party so of course I wanted to go and celebrate with her. Daddy came along and I'm glad he did because I told him many stories about us so I'm glad he finally got to meet her. It was super awesome to see her parents, siblings, and her Grandma that night. I can't even remember the last time I saw them.

It's so surreal that she and I are both married now and we are also both Mommies :) She has a 2yr old and a 1 yr old and here I am waiting for my first baby to be born in about 9 weeks. I hope she and I can continue to keep in touch and see our kiddos grow up and hopefully you guys can have a great childhood like she and I did. That'd be awesome if our kiddos end up being buddies...how cute would that be? I can't wait for you to meet her and her 2 cutie kiddos. She is super nice and funny :)

*Altanette-thanks again for the invite and it was super duper nice to see you and meet your family :) It was also great to see Mom, Dad, Mama, and your not to so little brothers and sister :) Let's definitely hang out and talk 'mommy' and 'wifey' stuff...hehe :)*

Daddy did good!

Dear Baby,

Last night You and I went to Kaiser for another class. This time it was to learn the basics of breastfeeding. I told Daddy he didn't have to go because he might just get bored. The class lasted 2 hours! I didn't think it was going to be that long but I learned a lot and took a lot of notes. You started kicking but I don't think it was because You were having fun. I'm guessing those kicks meant You wanted to me to stand and/or because You were hungry because Mommy's tummy was growling. Daddy called and said he was hungry too so we picked him and took him to Jack 'N the Box. They were giving out 2 free tacos last night (not sure why) and he got himself 2 chicken sandwiches. Mommy didn't get anything because I wanted to eat left over sinigang (sour soup) and brown rice.
After dinner, Daddy got the shower ready for us and I had the best shower ever last night. Daddy put up a new spa shower head, a new curved shower rod, and a new shower curtains that has cutie monkeys all over it.

And to top it off...he cleaned and scrubbed the tub so it was nice and super clean. He did good right? After my shower I was in bed and put my feet up for a little bit. I was about to get up and make Daddy lunch for work but he said to stay put and he'll make his own lunch...whoah! Not sure what was up with Daddy last night but I was lovin' every minute of it. (not used to it but loved it) And it doesn't even end there. He massaged my feet for a little bit before it was his turn to take a shower. *all smiles for Mommy*
It was already late by the time he got out of the shower so we went to sleep right after. Well...we both had trouble sleeping actually. And I think You did too because I felt a lot of movements from You for a little bit. Next thing you know, the alarm sounded and Daddy forced himself out of bed and off to work he went at 5 in the morning. Mommy actually slept in for a little bit thing morning. Mama and Papa didn't go to work today so I didn't have to get up early to take them and then I wasn't feeling well so I called in and told my work I was going to be a little late. I really hope I don't get sick because Papa is sick right now and I know a few people in the building that I work at is sick too.
Well, there you have it. That's my story for the day. It's about 10am right now and Mommy is feeling peachy :o) I just hope it lasts throughout the day and I also hope Daddy is OK at work. Let's send him good thoughts OK? Mommy and Daddy needs a lot of energy for tonight because we have to go to Babies R Us and register for Your Baby Shower, finish cutting the invitations, and mail them out...hopefully we won't be too tired for any of that.

the BIG 3-0

Dear Baby,

You and I have reached another milestone today...You and Mommy are now 30 WEEKS into this wonderful journey called Pregnancy. Woo-hoo!!! Let's celebrate...hehe =] Wow, You are now 30 WEEKS OLD! Mommy is SO happy because we are SO close to Your due date now and I am just so super excited (and scared) to finally bring You into this world...eeek!
Anyways, let's see what BabyCenter has to say about You today:

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

cabbage huh? they kinda stink...LoL

How far along: 30 weeks
Maternity Clothes: I thought I could get away with not buying anymore maternity clothes but all the other clothes I have now just don't fit anymore. I think I need to invest in more leggings and cute tops and hopefully that'll get me by for the next 10 weeks.
Sleep: Dear Sleep, Oh how I miss you so very much :(
Best Moment of the Week: Your Daddy was playing with you by talking to my  belly and touching it and he all of a sudden got scared and pulled away. He said he felt You...not sure what part of Your body it was but that it was hard. I told him it might've been your elbow or your fist...hehehe :)

Movement: This is an easy one...you move A LOT. I love it though, I love feeling you move in there. You respond to music. Last Friday I was sitting in the living room with Your Daddy's Mom and she was watching a spanish concert on TV and I honestly thought You were dancing in my belly because You just wouldn't stop moving. And of course You respond to Daddy's voice a lot too. I don't love it when I'm trying to go to sleep though :(

Food Craving: KETCHUP! Weird right? Don't get me wrong, I'm not drinking it by the bottle or anything but I just feel the need to always put ketchup on a lot of my food lately.

Gender: A lot of people are asking me what I would do if the hospital made a mistake and You come out a girl instead of a boy...PLEASE don't do that to Mommy. I mean, of course I'll be happy just as long as You are healthy and strong but I really hope the hospital didn't make a mistake by telling me You're a Baby Boy...

What I'm looking forward to: Holding You and Kissing You and Hugging You and just Loving You to pieces!

Weekly Wisdom: A lot of people STILL tell me my belly is HUGE and all that but guess what? I LOVE LOVE LOVE my BIG belly! I like wearing clothres that make my belly look even bigger. I enjoy being pregnant and having You in there. I will cherish every moment and am super grateful to be able to experience all of this. Ha! The next time someone tells me how HUGE my belly is (as if I don't see it) I'm just going to smile and say THANK YOU :)

1 Week away from the BIG 3-0

Dear Baby,

You are almost THIRTY...weeks that is :] You are now 29 WEEKS OLD today...woo-hoo! Mommy is super excited as the weeks go by because that means we're just getting closer and closer to bringing You into this world and I am just super stoked to meet You already. I want to see your eyes (which I think you'll have Daddy's eyes) and your lips and your cutie nose and your face and of course whether you'll be as white as your Daddy or will you have Mommy's skin tone...hmmm, we'll see.
Anyways, here's what BabyCenter has to say about You today:
How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

How far along:  29 weeks
Maternity Clothes: Mommy bought a few but I think it's time to buy a few more and bigger sizes because Mommy's belly is HUGE
Sleep: Mommy hasn't been sleeping well lately. I either have to get up to use the restroom, switch sides, or find a comfortable position. If not, You move like CRAZY in my belly.
Best Moment of the Week: Last night, Mommy felt you move for like 30 seconds...it felt like FOREVER! My guess is you probably had the hiccups. We'll ask the OB today since we have our monthly appointment later this afternoon.

Movement: A LOT! You usually move before/after Mommy eats, right before it's bedtime AND even while Mommy is sleeping, when Daddy talks to You, and when you hear loud music.

Food Craving: My cravings has stopped...thank goodness! I can still eat anything spicy any day but I don't look for it now. I do however crave for chocolates but only once in awhile.

Gender: BOY! My Baby Boy, my LiL Mijo...awwwwwwww!
What I'm looking forward to: I am looking forward to seeing your cute face and giving you nonstop hugs and kisses :]
Weekly Wisdom: Wisdom? Hmmmm...how about a comment? When other people see someone pregnant, I don't think they should comment on how BIG or SMALL their belly is because it's kind of annoying. I also don't think it's nice to tell someone pregnant that they look BIG. I mean, people should know that the pregnant girl herself KNOWS how BIG her belly is and BIG she's getting. There's no need to remind her. There's also a difference with saying "awwww,  look at your belly, your baby is getting big in there" from "OMG, your belly is HUGE! You sure you're not having twins?" Yup, big difference! I don't mind when people touch my belly or anything but just don't comment on how BIG it is or how BIG I'm getting...let's leave that topic alone shall we? I'm just sayin--- ;-)

28 WEEKS

Dear Baby,

You and Mommy are now 28 WEEKS OLD today :] Yippee!!! Mommy is getting so big by the minute. I am SO ready to get you outta my belly and hold you in my arms instead. But, I mean take your time. Mommy's patient and I'll be ready and happy when You feel it's time to get outta there. I think you're enjoying your time in there for mean time. Am I right?
Anyways, here's what BabyCenter has to say about You today:

How your baby's growing:

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

wowzers! You're getting BIG

Happy Halloween

Dear Baby,

You and Mommy were pretty busy on Halloween...kinda. We didn't make it to church because Mommy's car was over-heating :( bummer right? So Daddy had to change the radiator and all that stuff. Mommy is so happy and oh so grateful that Daddy knows how to fix cars :) I hope he'll teach you his skills one day...I'm sure he will! I can already see it now. You and Daddy in the garage fixing up the car(s).
So anyways, Mommy had to go to church to work at the Pumpkin Patch. Daddy dropped at us off at around 11:30am and we stayed there until 3:30pm. It was a pretty slow day since it was already Halloween and all but we still had a steady pace of customers. Daddy picked us up and we went to go pick up Mama from work. Daddy still needed a few parts and things for Mommy's car so we drove around to buy that stuff for a little bit. We then ate dinner, we had In-N-Out burgers...YUM!
After dinner, we headed off to meet up with Mommy's BFF at her place. Her sister and family were there too and we walked to this Halloween Carnival they had in the neighborhood. The ONLY thing we did there...EAT! hahaha :] We had a bacon-wrapped hot dog and a plate of nachos! YUM-O!!! Everyone kind of went their own ways after that. Daddy and I went to go to your Abuela's house.
I don't have a lot of pictures from Halloween but here's a few:

There You are in my belly :]
Next year, we'll be carrying You
and You'll be all dressed up in Your
Halloween costume

There's Mommy and the BFF
she kept saying HI to you and
touching my belly too :]

Your Father is a GOOFBALL!
He's gonna get mad that I posted this
but that's what he gets for being a
