Dear Baby,
We have another birthday to celebrate today but I’ll write about that in a totally different post because I forgot a few bdays this month…I know, shame on me! I was looking at Mommy and Daddy’s wedding website yesterday (which brought so much memories by the way) and on the Blog section of it, I found a post that I wrote about all the September birthdays in the family (that’s how I found out I forgot about a few people). This is what I wrote from our wedding website last September:
We’ll call this LiL post---Happy Birthday September Peeps!
myrene tampad on Sep 09, 2009 11:29 AM
I have a few fam bam members that are celebrating their birthday this month and I wanted to take a moment to greet them a happy birthday and say a few words about each one. Here goes:
First up---CALEB JEIEL TRINIDAD aka CJ--his birthday was last Sunday, September 6.
He is now 6 YEARS OLD! Seriously, it seems like it was only yesterday when 8Joy was prego with him and now this not-so-LiL boy is in 1st Grade!
CJ is like a human juke box—seriously! He can memorize song after song and sings each song with feelings…hehehe :] This kid always amazes me with whatever new trick he has up his sleeve. He can so be an ARTISTA in the Philippines :] He’ll easily fit in with the Going Bulilit Kids or even be in May Bukas Pa and be Santino’s buddy :]
Happy Birthday CJ—ate mYe Love’s yOu!
Second on the list---DENNIS RENAN CONCEPCION aka Densyo---his birthday is today, September 9. It’s supposed to be a lucky day today 9/9/09.
Today is Den’s 28th bday! (28 right? Hold on! Gosh darn, I forgot I’m a year older than you so that means I have to accept that I’m pushing 30!) OK, back to the bday boy—Man, what can I say about this guy without saying too much? ;] Densyo and I have been through SO much together and we’ve gone from being related to being friends then enemies and then on to being buddies then on to partners in crime. I am happy to say that we are now more than just family and friends---it’s beyond that! Den and I have this unspoken understanding---what understand you ask? He better keep my secrets with him to his grave if he wants me to do the same with his…hahaha! :]
Happy Birthday Densyo—LuvYa!
Third runner up—ooops! I mean third on the list is CORINO CONCEPCION aka to’No or uncLe Corino—his birthday is tomorrow, September 10.
I’m not sure how old he’ll be tomorrow but my guess would be--he’s turning 55 years oLd…am I right? I think I remember LoLo and LoLa’s kids are 2 years apart from each other—I think! How oLd are you to’No? …hmmmm…I don’t think I have much to say about my uncLe…is that mean? I don’t really know him…or do I? hehehe :] I remember all the stories of how he’s LoLa’s favorite and she used to let him get away with so much…hahaha! He is now a proud LoLo to 3 adorable kiddies---Krizia, Kristine, and Sean…I wonder if to’No lets any of his grandkids get away with anything :]
Happy Birthday to’No—Labsyoo!
Fourth person celebrating a birthday---CHRISTINA CARDONA aka t’Tina---soon to be Mrs. Lee—her birthday is September 16, TWO days before she walks down the aisle to marry her ‘Lobster’…awwww!
Ku’Jay and t’Tina have been together for like 8 years now so she’s already part of the familia. Ku’Jay and t’Tina are such a CUTIE couple :] And hey, if you can put up with ku’Jay then that sure goes to show how much you love the boy…hehehe :] j/k ku’Jay! t’Tina is coo’! No but seriously, I am just super happy that she’ll officially be my ‘cuz’ in less than 2 weeks and I am looking forward to getting to know her even better, creating many more memories, future talks, Lotsa laughs, and some gossip here and there with her---the new member of the Concepcion FamBam :]
Happy Birthday t’Tina—LuvYa!
Fifth person on the September list—AMBER LOVE GORDON aka BeB—her birthday is September 28 and she’ll be 14 YEARS OLD. **For Amber's picture>>>It seems like it was only yesterday...and look at them now!**
Wow! Time sure did fly by because there’s no stopping this not-so-LiL girL from growing up into a young Lady. Sometimes I wish I can stop time with her and wish she’ll stay a LiL girL but then again, I’m curious to see what she’ll be up to in 5-10-20 years from now. What school will she go to? What will she major in? Where will she work? And of course the inevitable (which I’m sure Mark and AteNen are in denial about) Boyfriends? Marriage? Kids? Oh no! hahaha :] I just hope she grows up into a kind, generous, loving, respectful, and successful young Lady!
Happy Birthday BeB—LuvYa!
Last but certainly not the least—Mrs. Norma Gaeta aka my future Suegra(future mother-in-Law)—her birthday is September 29.
First off, let me just say THANK YOU everyone for all your well wishes and prayers for Mrs. Gaeta. This Lady is one TOUGH Lady, I mean she has to be right…raising 5 boys and a husband :] She’s doing well and has started chemo. Please continue to pray for her for a speedy recovery.
Mrs. Gaeta is what every ‘housewife’ stands for. She is one cleaning and cooking machine. Adrian and his brothers (including Mr. Gaeta) are very lucky to have her. She’s really nice, always with a smile, and her cooking is Y-U-M-M-Y! Adrian’s already worried about what I’ll feed him when we’re married because he knows (and I know too) that it won’t be as good as his mOmmy’s cooking. Hopefully she’ll be teach me a few of her secret recipes and here’s to hoping I can actually pull it off…hehehe :] I’m thrilled to be able to be her future daughter-in-Law and I’m looking forward to many more memories with her and the Gaeta Family.
Happy Birthday Mrs. Gaeta!
So who did I forget? I mean technically, I forgot to write about 2 of ‘em but I did send CJ a text (through his parentals of course). I have to admit that I totally forgot about Uncle Corino aka ‘To No’s birthday. (sorry po) Belated Happy Birthday Uncle Corino, I hope you enjoyed your special day. Not sure how old you are but I know you’re young at heart so to you age is nothing but a number right? Happy Happy Birthday and I wish you many more happy years to come!
CJ-Belated Happy Happy Birthday to YOU! I know you had an amazing day because I saw a few pictures on facebook. Your SpongeBob birthday party looked like it was A LOT of fun! I can’t believe you are now 7 YEARS OLD and in 2nd grade! Wowsers! Keep up the good work Kid, I can’t wait to see what new songs, jokes, stories, or tricks you got up your sleeve for the next time we see you. I am also super excited for my LiL One to meet you. I hope you can teach him how to swim because I know how much you love doing that. And please also teach him about God and how to pray and sing gospel songs. I think you’re going to be a great Kuya CJ to my baby. Since CJ’s mommy and I are first cousins, that means these two will be 2nd cousins…right? Right! (I think)
So anyways, I think that concludes our September bdays…yippee!

Happy 23 Weeks to You and Happy Birthday to a Special Gal
Dear Baby,
Today is a special day because we are celebrating 2 milestones. You are now 23 Weeks Old...yippee! We're getting closer and closer to meeting You...I am so super excited! Another mileston we're celebrating today is Your Ate Amber's birthday...she is 15 Years Old today! WoW! I cannot believe she's already 15 and a sophomore in high school. Seems like it was only yesterday when she was just born and she was such a cute chubby little baby...hehe :) She weighed in at 10 POUNDS when she was born...wowsers!
Anyways, here's what BabyCenter has to say about You today and then I'll write a little bit more about my niece Amber Love:
How your baby's growing:
Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.
On to the birthday girl---
Amber Love Gordon aka BEB is Mommy’s niece and she is the middle child for the Gordon family. She’s the middle and the only girl so you know what that means right? She is the PRINCESS of the family…hehe I cannot believe she is now 15 years old! Or maybe I can. I just feel old thinking about their age but at the same time, I am so happy for the way my niece and nephews are turning out to be. I gotta admit, I MISS them terribly sometimes but growing up means they do their own things now and are busy with their own lives so I just have to accept that. I just miss those days when they were still itty-bitty and would come over the house every weekend when I would babysit them and we would have so much fun just hanging out. Oh, those were the days It’s now Your turn to make some fun and awesome memories with your cousins.
Anyways, I cannot wait for You to meet her. She is going to LOVE you to pieces. I’m sure You’ll learn a lot from her and hopefully she’ll teach you her strategies on how to get good grades because Your Ate Amber is a straight A student! Awesome right? She’s a nice girl who is very loving and likes to give/receive hugs so she’s for sure going to be a kissing/hugging monster to her first baby cousin…lucky You! So be sure to listen to her and be a good boy for her when it’s her turn to babysit you Yes, since I babysat my sister’s kids…they have to return the favor and babysit my LiL Boogers! Hahaha It’s only fair don’t you think?
So…HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEB! We love you so very much and we are so proud of you! Keep up the good work and just know that ateMye will ALWAYS be here for you…ALWAYS! And now you have Tio and LiL Timmy soon on your side as well. We love you—the Gaetas

Baby Care Basics Class
Dear Baby,
Today, Mommy and Daddy will get off work a little early so we can go to Kaiser and attend our FIRST class about BABIES. The hospital offers a few classes for expecting mothers and this class will be the first one on our agenda. I am so excited because I want to know what kind of information they'll share us that will help us with caring for our LiL One. I'm also excited to see how your Daddy will react to some of the things they'll share with us. I hope he doesn't act silly and make me laugh too much because they might end up kicking us out of the class...hehehe :)
Anyways, I looked up Baby Care Basics online and here's what Google has to say about this class:
Baby Care Basics
This "hands-on" class teaches the basics of how to care for your new baby. Practice diapering, dressing and swaddling baby dolls. Topics covered include: newborn characteristics & procedures; infant nutrition, signs/symptoms of illness, crying; bathing, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), and basic car seat safety.

Another Week Older
Dear Baby,
My gosh, you are growing by the minute...or at least that's what it feels like. My belly is HUGE and I can feel you moving around in there a lot more. You are now 22 WEEKS OLD. Time sure does fly by when you're having fun...or at least that's what they say. Am I having fun? Kinda sorta...hehe :) I still can't believe I'm going to be a MOMMY soon and to have You growing in my belly is just AMAZING. I've always felt that babies are a gift from God and I also believe when people say babies are miracles but that feeling is multiplied by the thousands now that I'M actually going to have a baby of my own.
Anyways, here's what BabyCenter has to say about You today:
How your baby's growing:
At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

Maternity Pics
Dear Baby,
Here are some teaser pics from Mommy's Maternity Photo Session over the weekend. The talented Photographer Couple from Studioworkz aka my BFF and her BF took the pictures. They are SO much fun to work with and we had a lot of laughs. These are just a couple of what she posted.

Dear Mommy and Daddy
Dear Baby,
I got this letter from Lynsey's blog and I had to share because it is just SO super sweet. I'm at work reading her post and I got all teary eyed. I don't think I need to explain the letter or go into details because the letter speaks for itself.
Here it is:
Dear Mommy and Daddy,
Please keep this letter from me in a place where you can read it and re-read it when things are rough and you are feeling down.
1. Please don't expect too much from me as a newborn baby, or too much from yourselves as parents. Give us both six weeks as a birthday present, six weeks for me to grow, develop, mature, and become more stable and predictable - six weeks for you to rest and relax and allow your body to get back to normal.
2. Please feed me when I am hungry, I never knew hunger in your womb and clocks and time mean little to me.
3. Please hold, cuddle, kiss, touch, stroke, and croon to me. I was always held closely in your womb and have never been alone before.
4. Please forgive me if I cry a lot. I am not a tyrant who was sent to make your life miserable, the only way I can tell you I am not happy is with my cry, bear with me and in a short time, as I mature, I will spend less time crying and more time socializing.
5. Please take the time to find out who I am, how I differ from you and how much I can bring to you. Watch me carefully and I'll tell you things which sooth, console and please me.
6. Please remember that I am resilient and can withstand the many natural mistakes you'll make with me. As long as you make them with love, I cannot be harmed.
7. Please don't be disappointed when I am not the perfect baby you expected nor be disappointed with yourselves when you are not the perfect parents.
8. Please take care of yourself; eat a balanced diet, rest, and exercise so that when we are together, you have the patience and energy to take care of me. The cure for a fussy baby is more rest for Mom.
9. Please take care of your relationship with each other. What good is family bonding if there is no family left for me to bond with.
10. Keep the "big picture" in mind. I'll be like this for a very short time, though it seems like forever to you now. Although I may have turned your life upside down, please remind yourselves that things will be back to normal before long.
Enjoy me - I'll never be this little again!

Happy 21 Weeks!
Dear Baby,
Today, you and I are now on our 21st week of this journey. I am now more excited to meet you but also oh so nervous about giving birth to You. Please, please, help Mommy out...pretty please. I am praying and hoping for an easy breezy labor *fingers crossed*
Anyways, here's what BabyCenter has to say about You today:
How your baby's growing:
Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well. (hehehe...that's funny, not sure why but is and since You're a BOY that doesn't apply to You my LiL Peanut)
Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.

Happy Birthday Dennis
Dear Baby,
Last Thursday was Mommy's cousin Dennis' birthday. Your Uncle Dennis and I grew up together so he and I super close. We've been through he!! and back and still love each other...hahaha :) Anyways, we celebrated his bday by meeting up at his fave breakfast joint in L.A. called the Griddle Cafe. Uncle Dennis LOVE's this place and he's there EVERY Sunday for breakfast....yup, he likes it THAT much!!! As a matter of fact, your Uncle Dennis even treated Mommy to breakfast at the Griddle for my bday last month. I told you he loves this place.
Anyways, your Daddy had to work and your Tio KC had a morning class so they couldn't make it us. It was just You and Mommy for this YUM-O breakfast. A few of Uncle Dennis' close buddies were there and a very 'Special Someone' that I'll post about another day :) Uncle Den's friend Diana, who's also prego (she's 7mos) and her hubby Mark was there and he took pictures that I will have to grab from his blog just so I can show you how ridiculously HUGE the portions are at this place.
You and I shared a YUM-O plate of French Toast with Brown Sugar Baked Banana on top...talk about sugar overload. Did you enjoy it? I'm sure you did because Mommy loved every bite of that dish. We also had a few slices of ham that we all shared because an order of a side of ham could feed 3-4 people. I'm not even kidding you. All in all, we had a blast and it was so nice to be able to celebrate Dennis' bday with yummy food and awesome company. Happy Birthday Densyo and I wish nothing but happiness for you, your cutie doggies, and of course your special someone :) Baby and I love you!
And now...pictures---I grabbed all these pics from Mark's blog so he's the photog responsible for these great pics:

Woo-Hoo!
Dear Anak,
Guess what today is? Go on, take a guess :) OK, I'll tell you what today is-
You and Mommy reached our HALF WAYS POINT with this pregnancy! Yippee!!! You and Mommy are now at 20 WEEKS today. A few people are saying the past 20 weeks went by fast but to be honest, I don't feel like that at all. It only feels slow when people constantly ask me when my due date is or when they make comments of how big or small my belly looks. But I try my best to not pay attention to those comments because I'd go crazy if I let it get to me.
Anyways, here's what BabyCenter has to say about YOU today:
How your baby's growing:
Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)
He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
And here's what the site has to say about Mommy:
Congratulations! You've hit the halfway mark in your pregnancy. The top of your uterus is about level with your belly button, and you've likely gained around 10 pounds. Expect to gain another pound or so each week from now on. Make sure you're getting enough iron, a mineral that's used primarily to make hemoglobin (the part of your red blood cells that carries oxygen). During pregnancy, your body needs more iron to keep up with your expanding blood volume, as well as for your growing baby and the placenta. Red meat is one of the best sources of iron for pregnant women. Poultry (especially the dark meat) and shellfish also contain iron. Some common non-meat sources of iron include legumes, soy-based products, spinach, prune juice, raisins, and iron-fortified cereals.
If you haven't already signed up for a childbirth education class, you may want to look into one, especially if you're a first-timer. A structured class will help prepare you and your partner for the rigors of labor and delivery. Most hospitals and birth centers offer classes, either as weekly meetings or as a single intensive, one-day session. Many communities have independent instructors as well. Ask your friends, family members, or caregiver for recommendations.

Awwww...you're a Bananers now :) |
